Melli Ink (Melanie Grieder-Swarovski) is a member of a new generation of artists who do not reinvent the world through their artwork, but instead combine familiar motifs into a new perspective on the world. Melli Ink uses the power of various media, symbols, and pure dimension. Her spectacular work, “City of Glass” shows a utopia under a glass dome constructed on a moutain crystal panel illuminated from below and realized with glass, rose quartz, and crystal.
Originally from Innsbruck, Melli Ink completed her studies in stage design at the Central St. Martins School of Art in London. Before taking her first steps into the fine arts, she worked in the areas of theater, opera, and film, created set designs and costumes. As an artist, she is inspired by art history, literature, film, and music, as well as by traditional art from her Tyrolean home. Melli Ink works and resides in Switzerland and Berlin.
